Impunities such as Police injustice, terrorism, exploitation, and lack of regard for human rights are just a few of the many terrors experienced by people in different parts of the world. More people are rising in protest to condemn these acts of injustice, they want their voice heard, and they refuse to stay silent.
Relentlessly, people gather in groups, and hold peaceful demonstrations, chanting slogans, and holding placards, marching in the streets hoping to make a difference towards a passionate cause. Such groups are highlighted below.
The Larkin and Lacy Frontera fund
They have been very vocal particularly on matters concerning migrant rights. This fund was founded by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, with an aim of funding organizations which advocate for migrant and human rights in Arizona.
The two journalists won a court battle, and were awarded $3.75 million in settlement, after facing wrongful arrest by County Sheriff of Maricopa, Joe Apario.
The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund now looks to use the money to support groups and organizations that fight for migrant, civil, and human rights in the larger Arizona region. The two are also the co-founders of Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times.

Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA)
Another group that is just as passionate about migrant rights. They voice their opinions promoting an all-inclusive society that does not seclude Immigrants.
The organization started after the realization of the 1986 Immigration reform and Control Act that called for a halt in employment of workers who were not documented. The group saw this as a loophole that could lead to exploitation and abuse of workers, most of whom are immigrants. They strongly differed and fought against the law.
This group is involved in joint efforts with other indigenous organizations and environmental groups to advocate for migrant rights.
This group was formed after observing an increase in gas line projects and oil projects which often lead to exploitation of indigenous people if not watched. They concentrate their efforts in the Amazon areas.
The ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project
They work vigorously in conjunction with the above groups to protect the human and civil rights of immigrants. Through litigation, advocacy, and outreach efforts, they have changed peoples’ lives, and helped ensure proper treatment of immigrants.
